FIRST FISH!!! 75 Gallon Saltwater Aquarium Installation – Beverly, MA

Today is the day! Our first fish are being put in the new 75 gallon aquarium at Harborlight Family Medicine in Beverly, MA. Since this saltwater aquarium installation, the new tank has been running for a few weeks and the water chemistry is stable, we can safely begin adding fish, corals and other invertebrates. We shared the story of this reef aquarium conversion a few months back. This week we’re back in Boston, MA to check up on the system and give it a thorough cleaning. We are now onto part II of our new saltwater aquarium installation in Beverly. If you don’t remember, take a look at Part I on our blog. A few days later the water is finally ready for live sand and rock. As usual, we drain the tank partially before adding the rock. Once our rock structure is built, live sand is added around the base of the rock and covers the bottom of the tank. We use about 1.5 inches of sand typically.
